Why Spiritual Gifts Discovery Should Never Be a One-Time Test. Moving your people from a static assessment to an ongoing journey of Discover, Develop, Deploy.
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms" (1 Peter 4:10). When believers understand and operate in their spiritual gifts, they serve with joy, with effectiveness, and in alignment with how God designed them. When they do not, gifts stay buried and the body of Christ runs short-handed.
Most churches already believe this. So why does spiritual gifts discovery so often fall flat?
The problem with the one-time test
For most people, a spiritual gifts assessment is a static, one-time event. They take a quiz, receive a generic result, nod, and move on. Three problems follow. Results rarely translate into anything practical. There is no ongoing support after discovery. And a wide gap opens between knowing your gifts and actually using them. Discovery without deployment is just self-knowledge that never reaches the people it was meant to serve.
A gift discovered but never deployed is a gift the body never receives.
